Our Team
Nicki Stein (she/her)
Senior Producer, Head of Story
Nicki is an audio producer and story editor. She is known for three things: 1) being able to recite the Back to the Future trilogy from memory 2) her karaoke rendition of Semi-Charmed Life 3) once burning a hard boiled egg. Her audio work has appeared on NPR’s Invisibilia, KCRW’s UnFictional, and Love + Radio. She is a graduate of the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University and the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, ME.
Carl Nellis (he/him)
Senior Producer, Head of Community
Carl is a writer, dungeon master, and grill dad with a record of award-winning historical storytelling. As a producer for smash hit history podcasts like Lore, Unobscured, and SNAFU with Ed Helms, Carl brings the attitude of a documentarian to the matter of retelling stories from the past through visceral scenes and absurd hijinks.
Nick Dooley (he/him)
Director of Technology and Engineering
Nick is a drummer, an audio engineer, and definitely not a wizard. When he isn’t working on his house or recording studio, he’s probably building a curling rink in the back yard, helping a friend throw a show, or attaching a speaker to something that probably shouldn’t carry a speaker. He’s made records with dozens of bands, mixed hundreds of podcast episodes, captured live audio at New York’s finest performance venues, and commissioned audio systems around the world. Now he mostly works on a computer at home with his good boy, Davey.
Gemma Castelli-Foley (she/her)
Associate Producer, Head of Operations
Gemma is a writer, researcher, and systems thinker. When not managing administrative and financial back-of-house, Gemma spends her time in research rabbit holes and hopping on the mic as vocal talent. With a background in theater and live-event production, Gemma specializes in wrangling logistics into immersive creative experiences. Her idea of a Good Egg is jammy with abundant dill.
